Established in 1999, Monte Alegre is Alkan’s nucleus. The progressive diversification of its activities currently supports a business platform comprising five divisions: hydrocarbons, cement and concrete, plastics, chemicals, and lubricants.
The Paraguayan economy’s growing dynamism requires quality imports in fuel and industrial feedstock, meeting the challenge of maintaining quality throughout the supply chain from international providers to final distribution.

While Monte Alegre’s main business line is hydrocarbons, occupying a privileged place in the energy sector, the remaining divisions contribute to the development of the industrial and construction sectors.
Starting operations in 2009, the hydrocarbon division quickly expanded to become Monte Alegre’s main business line. Its engagement with renowned major international suppliers, integrated logistics through Navesur’s own fleet, and state-of-the-art infrastructure located in Terminal Occidental make Monte Alegre a leading competitor in the local market. Terminal Occidental is an industrial and port complex located in Villa Hayes, on the Paraguay’s River right margin, at km 1642 of the Paraguay-Paraná Waterway. Only a short distance from Asunción, Paraguay’s capital, it offers world-class services and facilities to accommodate Monte Alegre’s operations.
Monte Alegre distributes its products to all major fuel retailers in Paraguay. Petromax, Alkan’s own gas station network, provides an additional sales channel.
Following its diversification strategy, Monte Alegre started in the concrete and cement business in 2011, investing in a concrete manufacturing plant in Limpio, in the outskirts of Asuncion. Monte Alegre broke into the construction market with great momentum, thus becoming a supplier for the largest construction companies in the local market under the brand name Cimenta Concretos.
Cimenta Concretos delivers comprehensive concrete services with a team of specialized professionals who advise clients throughout the process, including construction site visits and laboratory tests, as well as technical reports and quality control.
Service is provided seven days a week, even during nights, weekends, and bank holidays. Through its portable plant and fleet, Cimenta offers complete flexibility to serve client needs anywhere in the country.
The plant produces type FCK 120, 150, 180, 180 CRP, 180 DA, 200, 210, 240, 250, 300, 350, and 500, with a monthly production capacity of 4.000 m3. While local demand is typically set at FCK 500, Cimenta Concretos can deliver concrete above that quality by specific request.
Monte Alegre is a certified supplier of chemical feedstock for industrial use, imported from major international suppliers. Storage is handled in Monte Alegre’s warehouses in Terminal Occidental.

The lubricants division imports and distributes lubricants and greases for a wide array of uses in industrial, automotive and maritime sectors. Monte Alegre has in place quality control through laboratories as well as specialized staff to advise on its range of products.
Spanish company CEPSA is an international market leader with a wide array of lubricants and grease products for automotive, transport, heavy machinery, industrial, and maritime use. Its product line is distributed directly by Monte Alegre and commercialized in retail through Petromax, Alkan’s network of gas stations.
